Taj Mahal, is a white marble monument built in Agra, India around 1631–1648, an epitome of love, raised in dedication to wife Mumtaz Mahal by Moghul Emperor Shah Jahan. Taj Mahal: One Mausoleum Viewed from Different Perspectives, is one of seven wonders in the world!

The Emperor and his beloved wife is buried under this famous Mausoleum. I have visited the mausoleum many times in past decades, each time it gives a mixed feeling of admiration and awe. A feeling of respect, fear and wonder and sometimes an eerie feeling, as you step in alongside, hundreds of other visitors.

Earlier it was allowed to go downstairs and visit real tombs of the couple. Nowadays it is restricted to visit real ones and you can just view the placeholder tombs built on upper floors, just above the real tombs.
