Art form with unnatural wild and bold colors used for an expression
An Art form with wild and bold and shocking colors showcasing impressionism through wild colors on canvas by artists, is called Fauvism. Bold color application, use of thick paints and expressive nature of art was inspired by post-impressionist artists as Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Cézanne and Paul Gauguin. Fauvism: French Art Form of Early 20th Century was founded by trio, young Paris based painters, Henri Matisse, Andre Derain and Maurice de Vlaminck.
What is Fauvism?
Fauvism was a kind of first Avant-Garde art movement in early 20th century. It was an unorthodox, unique art style with use of bold colors and hues that were shocking for usual artist of that period.
This beautiful art innovation was quite unacceptable initially by artists of that era. Hence the name “les Fauves” or “the wild beasts” were used for such innovative artists at that time. Hence the name Fauvism arrived for such an art form.
