Blue color of the ceramic and porcelain have historical significance and specific names of the art

We all have seen and utilized blue and white porcelain pieces as dishware, decorative plates and vases. They all have a rustic charm and a uniqueness that can not be defined in words. Deep dive in the history and some research brought forth that Blue and White Porcelain have History! Blue color of these porcelain is due to inherent chemical and have imprints of mix of two significant cultures!

What is porcelain?

Porcelain is a ceramic substance made by heating Kaolin (China Clay) and Petunse pottery stone material in various compositions in kiln at a high temperature around 1200–1400 degree Centigrade ( C).

Heating silicate minerals as kaolinite provides plasticity to the porcelain structures created and the during heating the formation of minerals Mullite through vitrification provides strength, hardness and translucency to the porcelain.

Vitrification is the process of transformation of silicate material to the glass like substance.
